Local organizations partner to teach caring citizens how to help a teen or loved one in crisis

Mark Russler, the Director of Yellowstone Behavioral Health Center welcomed participants to the Youth Mental Health First Aid course. The course is designed to teach parents, family members, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health/addictions challenge or is in crisis. Participant, Linda Baumstarck asks the community, "What would you do for your child?" and states, "Youth Mental Health First Aid training is a must". Topics covered include: - anxiety - depression - substance use - disorders in which psychosis may occur - disruptive behavior disorders - eating disorders. Participant Sarah Call stated, "YMHFA is important because we need additional tools to help our youth and their mental health needs".
