22 candidates confirmed for Meet the Candidates night in Powell

Powell Economic Partnership, Inc. (PEP) is hosting a Meet the Candidates evening for the local business community and all community members of Powell on Thursday, July 21st, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at The Commons in downtown Powell. This is a unique event, with candidates from the local Mayor all the way up to the federal US House of Representatives. There is no cost for the event and it is open to the public. The schedule for the evening begins with an informal meet and greet. At approximately 6:15 p.m., the candidates will have two minutes to introduce themselves and answer one to two questions given to them in advance. “In Wyoming and definitely in Powell, we appreciate an opportunity to meet people face-to-face and look them in the eye,” says Christine Bekes, Executive Director for PEP. After the introductions the remainder of the evening is for continued relationship building and personal conversations between the community and the candidates. Invites have been extended to all candidates running for office in Powell, Park County, the State and the US House. There are currently 22 candidates confirmed as of July 15th. Confirmed candidates include: City of Powell Mayor – Don Hillman, James Andrews; Powell City Council – Douglas Kirkham, Lesli Spencer; Park County Commissioners – Lee Livingston, Jake Fulkerson, Boone Tidwell, Robert Ruckman; Wyoming Legislature HD25 – Dan Laursen, Dave Blevins, Shane Tillotson; Wyoming Legislature HD 50 – David Northrup, Mike Specht; Wyoming Legislature HD26 – Joyce Collins, Philip Abromats, Jamie Flitner, Jean Petty; US House Candidates – Darin Smith, Tim Stubson, Mike Konsmo, Ryan Greene, Leland Christiansen. “Successful economic development relies on the strong leadership of our elected officials to balance tough decisions, while keeping our businesses and communities in mind. The engagement of our community is critical and this opportunity allows for us all in Powell to be more informed voters going into the primaries on August 16th,” says Bekes. #reboot #news
