  • Youth Activities - As a previous City Council member and Rec Board member, Gard was part of the group who helped make the Skate Park a success. "I am and will be a major proponent of the Splash Pad and cleaning up City Park so citizens can use the space," he said. Youth sports have always been a big part of his life as he's served as a basketball coach, soccer coach, baseball coach, and umpired babe ruth baseball for 20+ years.
  • Law Enforcement - "I'm a real supporter of the Riverton Police Department and our County Law Enforcement. I want to help maximize their ability to do their job," Gard said.

Richard is a Riverton native, having lived here since 1958. He graduated from Riverton High School, attended college at Rick's College, and married his wife Debra. Recently, they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and together have six children and 16 grandchildren.
