"I knew I wanted a career where I could have a positive impact on the people I serve."

(Fremont County, Wyo.) - Rodney Schurg has always been a part of the financial world. His father opened the first Edward Jones office in Lander in 1985 when Rodney was only 14 years old. Rodney always knew he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps.
Rodney attended college in Kingsville, Texas where he met Rebecca in 1994. They married a couple of years later and moved to Akron, Ohio so that Rebecca could attend graduate school in Clinical Psychology. Rodney then dove into the financial world and started working with Charles Schwab in 2000.  "I've always loved finance and I knew I wanted a career where I could have a positive impact on the people I serve," explained Rodney.
In 2002, the Schurgs' moved to Lander where Rodney began working with his father at Edward Jones. Rebecca worked at Wyoming Indian High School as part of a Federal Grant but when their first child was born in 2004, she became a full-time homemaker. Two more children followed in 2006 and 2008. For the past four years Rebecca has dedicated her time volunteering at the Lander Pet Connection, helping run the shelter, and working part-time assisting Rodney at Edward Jones.
