Wyoming native, Chancey Williams and The Younger Brother's Band, chatted with Shortgo; Concert TONIGHT at the Outlaw Saloon!

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) – Wyoming native, Chancey Williams and his Younger Brothers Band are in the midst of their Fall “Down with That” tour, and their next stop is our very own *Outlaw Saloon in Cheyenne TONIGHT, October 23 at 9:30 p.m.* Chancey Williams took some time this afternoon to talk with us and our complete interview is below. We hope to see you all at the show tonight, and we're definitely looking forward to seeing Chancey Williams perform this evening at the Outlaw Saloon. *Where are you living now, and how often do you get to play in Wyoming? -* "I live in Laramie which gives me the opportunity to play quite a bit in Wyoming." *What did growing up in Wyoming mean for you musically? -* "There has never really been a big music scene in Wyoming, which has allowed my band to create our own style and way of doing things." *Do you write your own music? *- "I wrote 'Down with That' with Jody Stevens and Geoffrey Buell in the studio in Tennessee. We were just spit-balling ideas and throwing out things that they were 'down with.' There are so many amazing writers [in Tennessee] that present me with their work, and it's hard to pass on a lot of things I can relate to." *How do you choose songs that someone else has written? -* "Usually whatever I can relate with, whatever feels right. I'm not married or have kids, so I pass on songs that involve that. I also pass on songs about the South. I'm not from there, so I can't really relate." *Do you have a new album in the works? - *"Yes, I released 5 singles and plans on releasing 5 more. The album is expected to be finished up sometime this Spring." *What has been your best show thus far on your tour? - *"Cheyenne Frontier Days is always a fun show to play, as is the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. I have my first overseas show booked in France for this tour. I'm looking forward to that but not sure how the country music scene is over there and if that audience will enjoy our music." He added, "All Wyoming shows are my favorite, but I enjoy traveling to new places and meeting new fans." *What's life like on the road? - *"It's not like everyone thinks, they always see us during and right after the show partying and having a good time, but after that we're busy. Get up, get there, set up, sound check, play the show, tear down, back to the hotel, and onto the next show." Chancey's next stop is in Lander at the Community Center on Saturday, October 24th. #shortgo #whatshappening -- ::: *Jenna Mayer* Community Engagement at Pitchengine | Facebook | 307.222.1254 PitchEngine™ | *Connecting Communities* | Twitter | Facebook
