Free health screenings available this Saturday for men in Laramie County

Cheyenne, WY—Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is hosting a men’s health outreach on November 21, 8-11 a.m., in the main lobby of the Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center, 310 East 24th St. “This event offers a convenient way for men in our community to receive basic screenings at no cost and to also find out more about issues that tend to have a significant impact on men’s health in our county and state,” said Barbara Lawyer, CRMC oncology program manager. Free cholesterol, testosterone, glucose and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests will be offered. Information on free screenings for lung, testicular, prostate and colorectal screenings will also be available in addition to free stool-testing kits, a limited number of free flu shots and low-cost radon-testing kits Men who browse materials on smoking cessation can also enter for a chance to win a free turkey. “Men tend not be as proactive about getting needed wellness check-ups,” Lawyer said. “This event is being offered by local agencies that care about men getting the information and tests they need to help them stay healthy.” Sponsors include the Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center, the Wyoming Institute of Population Health, Pints for Prostates, Prostate Conditions Education Council, Wyoming Cancer Resource Services, Wyoming Department of Health Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and HealthWorks.
