Breaking: Sheriff's Office alerts of possible phone scam in Laramie County

The Laramie County Sheriff's Office was recently informed of a possible phone scam involving a person representing themselves as a City employee. The phone calls are made to citizens claiming that they are with the warrants division, and that they person has a warrant out for their arrest due to a The person/s have been "calling citizens claiming that they are with the warrants division [informing] the person that they have a warrant for their arrest due to a failure to show up on a jury summons," the Laramie County Sheriff's Office reported. The person is then said to give the person a four-step process to buy a $500 prepay card and drop it off at a specified location. If you receive a similar call, do not give any money or person information to that person, the Sheriff's Office will not require a pre-paid card or will not solicit any money off of you. #shortgo #news #breaking
