The story was written for his daughters as an expression of love that was not intended to be published. Part of the story is about an angel statue in Salt Lake City Cemetery and the healing it brings to one of the characters in the book. After publication, many readers wanted to visit this statue, but it had been destroyed in a flood in 1984. A new statue was erected thanks to the popularity of the book, which gives many bereaved parents a place to heal. Since then many more replicas have been placed in public across the country giving people their own angel to visit. The Cheyenne Angel was dedicated on August 14, 2000. The walk will begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6., at Lakeview Cemetery on Seymour Ave. *Feature photo: Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne. h/t: Pitchengine Communities* #shortgo #news #whatshappening
