Volunteers needed for annual Point in Time Count to determine number of homeless in Laramie County community

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - Members of Laramie County will be conducting a head count on Jan. 27 for all of those in the local community experiencing homelessness. The annual Point in Time Count is essential to determine the amount of federal funding from the state. Members of Laramie County will stationed at the downtown Depot Plaza from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. making contact with those to be included in the count. Breakfast and a hot lunch will be available for those attending, along with coffee, drinks, and gift bags. Volunteer groups will be doing outreach and making contact with individuals who may be living in places not meant for habitation. Volunteers are needed to help with the count as well as items for the gift bags that would include men's socks, gloves, bandannas, cans of soup, snow hats, and reading glasses.
