Local man turns self in for early Sunday morning stabbing

The Cheyenne Police Department responded to a stabbing at the Big Horn Motel at 2:30 a.m. on January 10, 2016. Phillip Grenz, 53, of Cheyenne, called 911 stating he had stabbed someone and he needed to go to jail. When officers responded, an intoxicated Grenz admitted to stabbing his friend, Richard Loucks, 57, also of Cheyenne, in the leg over a $200 debt. Loucks was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for treatment. A large hunting knife was recovered at the scene and Grenz was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center for aggravated assault. This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department. #shortgo #news
