Botanic Gardens Topping Out Ceremony Scheduled For Tuesday, January 26

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - A ceremony to mark the finish of the new Cheyenne Botanic Gardens structural steel installation will be held Jan. 26. The ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m., and the public is invited to join. The ceremony include the placement of the last beam of structural steel into position on top of the building, arrive early to be able to sign the beam before it becomes a piece of history. The renovation and expansion of the Botanic Gardens in Lions Park was approved by voters on the 2012 Specific Purpose Tax Ballot (commonly known as the Sixth Penny Tax), costing a total of $16 million, with $14 million set aside for construction. The remaining funds will be used for operations and maintenance. Phase I, which is the construction of the new Botanic Gardens, will be completed in 2016. The renovation of the current Botanic Gardens facility is expected to be completed in 2017. #shortgo #news
