25 year old male dies at Cheyenne hospital after vehicle rollover crash

A fatal crash north of Chugwater has resulted in the death of Michael L. Cooper, 25, of Casper, Wyo. Cooper was driving a 1995 GMC Sonoma pickup truck southbound on I-25, Feb. 1, in snow and ice covered road conditions. Cooper lost control of the truck and began to spin off the highway to the west when his GMC slid into the ditch, tripped and rolled multiple times. Cooper was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected. Cooper was transported by ground ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries the next day, Feb. 2. Lack of seat belt use, traveling at a speed too fast for the snow and ice covered roadway and possible drug use are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash that marked the seventh highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016. There were 11 fatalities in this same time period in 2015. #shortgo #news
