Phone Scam: Laramie County Sheriff's Office says not to give personal information

(Cheyenne, Wyo,) - The Laramie County Sheriff's Office notified today of a phone scam making its round in Laramie County. "A person representing themselves as an employee with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office has been calling citizens claiming that they are with the warrants division. They inform the person that they have a warrant for their arrest due to a failure to show up on a jury summons." Scammers are calling from a Wyoming number, and the message says that you’ve reached the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office when you call back. Do not give your personal information or money if you believe you have received one of these calls. The Laramie County Sheriff's Office will not require you to buy a prepaid card and will not ask you for your credit card number.
