Decrease in number of DUI-related crashes reported by Cheyenne Police Department

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - The Cheyenne Police Department reported today that they have seen a decrease in the number DUI crashes over the past four years in Cheyenne. DUI crashes and the DUI crash rate, which takes population into consideration, have both decreased. CPD attribute these decreases to the implementation of the DUI command vehicle, the addition of a full-time DUI enforcement officer and all officers being trained in Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE). The DUI command vehicle has all the equipment needed to process a DUI arrest quickly and efficiently, allowing officers to spend more time patrolling the streets. Additionally, ARIDE training provides officers more advanced training in identifying signs of impairment related to drugs, alcohol or a combination of both. *Feature photo: Pitchengine Communities* #shortgo #news
