Cheyenne resident assists Officer and K9 in catching runaway criminal

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - A Cheyenne person assisted a Cheyenne Police Officer and his K9 Officer in nabbing a criminal last Wednesday. Tayler Powers, 22, of Cheyenne, was arrested after attempting to sell a stolen bicycle to Rock on Wheels, Mar. 16. Officer Sekerka had been dispatched to Rock On Wheels in regards to Tayler Powers bringing in a stolen bicycle. When the suspect realized he was about to be arrested he decided to run from officers," CPD wrote today. While Officers were running to catch Powers, a person in a car shouted for Officer Sekerka to hop in, and then drove Officer Sekerka ahead of the suspect which resulted in K9 Officer Ruger apprehending Powers. Powers was booked into the Laramie County Jail on two warrants, charges of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, false identification, identity theft, and interference with a peace officer.
