Landon Brown announces candidacy for vacated House seat

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - Twenty-nine year old Cheyenne native, Landon Brown, has announced his candidacy for the recently vacated House seat. Brown will run for House District 9 which encompasses the majority of northeastern Cheyenne and portions of Laramie County. Brown is currently the only Republican to have announced for the open seat, vacated by Representative Dave Zwonitzer (R). Brown currently works as the State’s Small Business Environmental Assistance Program and Pollution Prevention Coordinator for the Department of Environmental Quality, and in this position he works with small businesses to help navigate the regulatory process and assist businesses to reduce pollution on a voluntary basis. “I believe civic engagement is at the core of a strong community,” said Brown. “I value the opportunities our nation has given us to be a part of the process in how we shape and develop our State.” “My education and work experience have provided me a strong foundation in private and public sector knowledge – knowledge that can be used to serve the citizens of the State of Wyoming to improve the economy and increase the efficiency of government,” said Brown. “We have to continue to diversify the economy and fulfill the obligations we have as a State to its citizens.
