Young artists showcase their talents at the K-12 Art and Text Show

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - Laramie County School District 1 Kindergarten-12th grade students are hosting an Art and Text Show at the Cheyenne Civic Center until 7 p.m. tonight, April 13. Students from schools across Cheyenne participated in the show, filling two floors at the venue with artwork ranging from abstract paintings, to intricate sculptures, and more. One young student was asked to explain why they thought art was important, and their written response was, "because people love to pant. art is very pretty. I can pant lots of things. You can pant anything you want. That is why I think art is important." *Art from sixth graders at Jessup Elementary:* *Art from fourth graders from Jessup Elementary:* *Art from students at Johnson Junior High:* *Art from eighth graders at Johnson Junior High: * “Please take the time to look at the students’ artwork, read about their ideas and enjoy their artistic accomplishments,” LCSD1 art coordinator, Michele Ragaglia, said.
