Ecklund to seek re-election in Wyoming House District 10

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - Representative John Ecklund announced today that he will seek re-election for Wyoming's House District 10, May 3. Ecklund was first elected to the Wyoming State House in 2010, focusing on agriculture and water issues in the legislature. Eklund serves on the Agriculture, State and Public Lands and Water Resources Committee, the Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs Committee and the Select Water Committee. “Wyoming has done a good job saving and managing rainy day funds, and the economy in Laramie County is becoming more diverse," Ecklund said. "We need to continue that work now more than ever to protect jobs and opportunity in Wyoming for future generations.” “We know that Wyoming’s economy is in for a bumpy ride,” Eklund said. “We can no longer rely completely on mineral production to fund our state government. We need to cut spending to balance the budget but now is the time, while we have money in our savings account to help us through the tough patch, to continue our efforts to diversify our economy.” Eklund is a University of Wyoming graduate. Prior to serving in the legislature he was elected as a conservation district supervisor. He and his wife Suzi have three children. *Feature photo: John Ecklund /Pitchengine Communities* #shortgo #news
