(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - Third grade students from across Laramie County attended the Wyoming Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports today, May 3. The two-day Health and Fitness
held at the Cheyenne Ice & Events Center allows students to participate and
learn about physical activity through fitness demos, activity stations,
health screenings, and other informational tables.
Students are rotated through over 20 different stations that involve a
physical activity or health education activity every 15 minutes.
Several organizations across Laramie County who participated were: Cheyenne
YMCA, Prevention Management Organization, City of Cheyenne Recreation
Division, Coaches from Laramie County Community College's Men's Soccer
team, Cent$ible Nutrition, Rock on Wheels, WDOT Bike Safety, and more.
First Lady Carol Mead is scheduled to be in attendance for the final day of
the event, May 4.
Anyone with a passion to inspire Wyoming residents to achieve overall
well-being through physical activities and health awareness are encouraged
to volunteer. Contact Alice Burron or visit the main
