(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - A Cheyenne man was sentenced in Laramie County District Court for three counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 13, May 2. Billy M. Carrier Jr., 49, of Cheyenne, was sentenced to serve 30 to 50 years in prison for three counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 13, and another 10 years consecutive for second-degree sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 13. According to court documents, on June 18, 2013, the 9 year old girl victim opened up at church gathering that her grandfather, Carrier, had been molesting her. Carrier is not the biological grandfather, but "they have always had a good relationship with the Carrier's and Billy is essentially their grandfather," court documents state. In a forensic interview, the 9 year old girl victim described several graphic incidents to the affiant, in which the affiant was able to determine the described incidents happened from approximately May 2011 until September 2012, according to court documents.
