Pioneer Ave. and W. 19th St. intersection closed for one week

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - The W. 19th St. and Pioneer Ave. intersection has closed today, May 20. Phase II of the W. 19th St. Reconstruction Project will close the intersection for about one week, according to the City of Cheyenne. Detours will be posted for motorists. Phase II is between Pioneer Avenue and Crow Creek which will include total reconstruction of the roadway including new water and sanitary sewer lines; replacing curb, gutter, and sidewalk as needed; along with extensive stormwater and drainage work. The cost of the project is $5.4 million. Funding is from the One Percent Sales and Use Tax (the Fifth Penny Tax) and from the Board of Public Utilities.
