Cheyenne Transit Program proposes an increase in fare

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - The Cheyenne Transit Program proposed an increase in fare to City Council last night, May 23. Rates for residents to ride the CTP has not increased in 27 years, and the program is proposing a fifty-cent increase from one dollar to a dollar fifty for adults, and a dollar twenty-five for students. Children five and under as well as elders 60 plus will continue to ride free of charge. The proposed increase would allow more money to go directly back in to the transit program. Members of the council commented that the increase would be a drastic change for current paying riders. The proposal has been referred to the City of Cheyenne Finance Committee. If approved, the increase would take effect July 5. Feature photo: Wyoming Transportation Providers /Pitchengine Communities #shortgo #news
