Unidentified bicyclist killed in crash yesterday along US30 and Polk Ave.;Sheriffs seek information

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - The Laramie County Sheriff's Dept. is asking for assistance in identifying a man who was hit in a car vs. bicycle crash yesterday afternoon just before 5 p.m., May 30. Deputies from the Laramie County Sheriff's Dept. and Wyoming Highway Patrol responded to the area of US-30 and Polk Ave. yesterday on reports of a car vs. bicycle crash. A yellow 2015 Subaru Cross Trek was travelling arounf 55-60 miles westbound on US-30 when a bicyclist crossed over at Polk Ave. in front of the Subaru. When the driver of the Subaru saw the bicyclist an attempt was made to swerve to miss the bicyclist but the bike hit the front right side of the car. The bicyclist was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased, according to Laramie County Sheriff's Dept. reports. The bicyclist is a white male, mid-forties, approximately five foot seven inches tall, weighing around 135 pounds, with strawberry blonde hair with some gray in it. Bluish eyes and he had on prescription eye glasses. He was wearing two multicolored biking jackets, one Nike and the other Reebok. He had on black and white bike shorts, a long sleeve maroon t-shirt, a gray North Face vest and black and white biking gloves. His shoes were Saucony and they were gray and black with green lettering. His bike helmet was black and gray with the brand name GIRO. He was wearing a black Casio watch and his bike was a blue Scott mountain bike type. Some of the additional letter on the bicycle stated Elite Racing. The crash remains under investigation. An autopsy on the unidentified male is today at 2:30 p.m. at the McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colo. #shortgo #news
