Former President of the Wyoming Board of Nursing faces felony drug charges in District Court

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - Court documents filed earlier this week state that a case involving the now former President of the Wyoming Board of Nursing facing felony drug charges has been bound over to Laramie County District Court. Cynthia Woods, 61, of Wheatland, was arrested late last month and is facing charges of delivery of a schedule III drug (hydrocodone). In addition to her role on the Board, Woods is a registered nurse at Platte County Memorial Hospital where she had worked previously with Chief Financial Officer with the Wyoming Dept. of Health, Eric McVicker. Eric McVicker, 46, of Cheyenne, was recently arrested on accessory charges filed in this case. According to court documents, Woods had been unlawfully diverting a controlled substance (hydrocodone) to McVicker, in which he stated to law enforcement that he had been provided Vicodin (hydrocodone) by Woods approximately 10 times between 2010 and 2014. Agents with the Drug Enforcement Agency brought attention to McVicker when his wife handed over approximately 130 pages of incriminating emails between her husband and Woods while going through a divorce with McVicker, court documents state. Over 40 emails referencing prescription painkillers between the two were found, and eight correspondence emails believed to be controlled substance violations or diversion of a controlled substance. Court documents also state that Woods and McVicker would regularly meet in a State of Wyoming parking facility in Cheyenne where the pills would be provided for McVicker. Court documents filed on Monday state that a signarure bond for Woods of $10,000 was continued. *Feature photo: Laramie County Sheriff's Dept./Pitchengine Communities* #shortgo #news
