Cheyenne Regional Medical Center CEO announces her resignation

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) - Cheyenne Regional Medical Center announced today, June 24, that their CEO will be stepping down from her position. Dr. Margo Karsten accepted a CEO position in Greeley, Colo. at the Banner Health system. Her decision is a result of both her desire to be located closer to her children, and to continue pursuing her passion for healthcare. Karsten has served as the CEO at Cheyenne Regional since 2013. “I have truly been blessed and fortunate to work here. It has been a wonderful experience with so many great people, and it will be difficult to say goodbye. However, my family is my first priority and I very much need to live closer to my kids right now,” said Karsten. “I am confident, however, that Cheyenne Regional is in a strong position with the leadership that we have in place. The executive team is made up of caring, compassionate and competent leaders that will live our Cheyenne Regional values. I have no doubt that they will continue to strengthen this organization in many positive ways.” Dr. Karsten's final day at CRMC will be Sept. 2 of this year. Patrick Madigan, Chair of the Cheyenne Regional Board of Trustees, will step into the interim CEO position. Bill Larson, the Vice President of the Board, will assume the role of Chair on the Board. Cheyenne Regional will be actively recruiting to fill the open CEO position. *Feature photo: CRMC /Pitchengine Communities* #shortgo #news
