Veteran Character Actor ROBERT CATRINI Butts Heads with Tom Cruise in ‘JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK’

LOS ANGELES (October 17, 2016) – Veteran character actor ROBERT CATRINI isn’t afraid to butt heads with Tom Cruise as Colonel Moorcroft in the upcoming action-thriller, JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK. Releasing in theaters nationwide on October 21st from Paramount Pictures, the highly-anticipated sequel comes from celebrated director Edward Zwick.

Set four years after the first film, JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK follows Investigator Jack Reacher (Cruise) as he springs into action after Army Major Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders) is arrested for treason. Suspecting foul play, Reacher embarks on a mission to prove that the head of his old unit is innocent. Catrini steps into the action as Army JAG Colonel Archie Moorcroft, assigned to defend Turner against what appears to be an ironclad espionage case.

The script was co-written by Richard Wenk and Marshall Herskovitz and based on Lee Childs’ best-selling novel of the same name, the 18th in the Jack Reacher series.

Catrini was thrilled at the opportunity to join the popular story franchise, adding "Tom (Cruise) treated us (my wife, Peg and I) like visiting royalty. He could not have been nicer. Skydance's Don Granger, Tom's producing partner, was considerably complimentary and also one of the nicest guys! I've been directed by quite a few celebrated directors (mostly in the TV realm), and this is my first time being directed by the legendary Ed Zwick. I learned a lot about how he 'paces' his scenes and dialogue. Loved every minute of it; appreciative of all the compliments DURING the shoot, and VERY proud to have been chosen for this role, and to be working head-to-head with the most iconic actor/star of the last 35 years. Quite an honor!"

Coming in 2017, Catrini hits the small screen in Ryan Murphy’s newest FX Network series, FEUD, based on the legendary rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. He also just wrapped a guest starring role on in Season 3 of Amazon’s critically-acclaimed procedural drama BOSCH, which follows a homicide detective in the Hollywood Division of the LAPD.

Fans will recognize Catrini from his standout role as the Israeli President in the Paramount Pictures blockbuster G.I. Joe: Retaliation, starring Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum and Byung-hun Lee. Catrini also shined as real-life Dallas Funeral Director Vernon B. O’Neal in the Tom Hanks’ produced Parkland, starring Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton and Marcia Gay Harden.

With more than 50 television credits to his name, Catrini has appeared on every major network numerous times. Just this fall, he appeared on TNT’s fan favorite Rizzoli & Isles; and on FOX’s hit crime-drama-romance series, Rosewood. His credits also include appearances on NCIS, The Mentalist, True Blood, Criminal Minds, Without A Trace, Las Vegas, NYPD: Blue, Monk, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer among many others.

Originally from the Bed-Stuy section of Brooklyn, NY, Catrini has built a rock-solid reputation in Hollywood. Over the years, he has worked for a ‘Who’s Who’ of legendary TV and film directors and producers, such as David E. Kelley, Steven Bochco, Joss Whedon, Bill D’Elia, Alan Ball, Daniel Sackheim, Oz Scott, David Nutter, Michael Lange, Andy Ackerman, Rick Wallace, and Dennis Smith to name a few.

Robert Catrini is represented by Aqua Talent Agency.
