LOS ANGELES (April 19, 2017) – British actress Danielle Kronenberg delivers an award-winning performance as a masterfully manipulative fashion photographer in the highly-celebrated LGBT thriller short film, TASTE.
Directed by Jay Palmieri, Jr and produced by Kronenberg, this dark and twisted tale has picked-up numerous awards and accolades on the festival circuit. In addition, Kronenberg has earned ‘Best Supporting Actress’ awards at several festivals, including the Los Angeles Film Awards, International Independent Film Awards and United International Film Festival among others.
TASTE follows a bulimic fashion model who moved to New York thinking she left behind her dark family secrets. After a chance encounter with Evan (Kronenberg), a successful fashion photographer with a history of sexually manipulating her models, the young model discovers that her animalistic ways can't be tamed after all.
Kronenberg is excited to bring this artfully crafted story with strong female characters and controversial topics to audiences, adding “This is a story that needed to be told. When people hear about rape, they automatically think of a man raping a woman. But, same sex rape is happening every day. We’ve had some people walk out of our screenings claiming that TASTE was just too violent for them to watch and that it made them very uncomfortable. But would they walk out if it was a man raping a woman? I don’t think so! I think many people are still so uneasy and discombobulated with anything to do with the LGBT community, especially same sex rape. We understand that this could be triggering for victims of sexual assault, but I feel that we did a great job of executing the scene in order to bring awareness to the subject.”
Up next, Kronenberg heads into pre-production on an LGBT political drama she is co-writing and will produce and star in. Filming is slated to begin in late 2017.
A multi-talented beauty, Kronenberg currently splits her time between New York, Los Angeles and London. She started acting at a very young age, making her West End debut at 9-years-old. That same year, she began winning awards at the London Film Festival and working professionally in commercial advertising campaigns. She honed her skills studying at RADA and LAMDA, and was part of their Shakespeare Conservatory.
After making her way to the States, Kronenberg began building a solid reputation on the indie scene starring in numerous film projects. She went on to gain younger fans as creator and star of the children's web series How To Make, which garnered over 7000 views on YouTube within days after its release. Then in 2014, she produced, co-created and starred in the festival-hit film, Canvas, earning two ‘Awards of Merit’ for producing.
Danielle Kronenberg is represented by Pinnacle Theatrical Talent (Los Angeles) and Ingrid French Management (New York).
