Actress APRIL YVETTE THOMPSON Seeks Justice for Women Guest Starring on CBS Drama Series ‘BULL’

All-New Episode Airs on April 17, 2018

NEW YORK (April 16, 2018) – Actress April Yvette Thompson seeks justice for women in an integral Guest Starring role on an all-new episode of the CBS hit drama series, BULL, airing on April 17th at 9pm/8c.

In the upcoming BULL episode titled “Justified,” a friend from Bull's (Michael Weatherly) past, Dr. Marian Green (Thompson), enlists his services to help convince a jury that a domestic abuse survivor who shot her husband in his sleep is not guilty of murder because she feared for her life and the life of her unborn child.

Thompson was thrilled at the opportunity which was offered to her based on her demo reel and without going through the traditional auditioning process. Thompson shares, “I feel truly blessed to be entrusted with such high quality work. Our Director, Dennis Smith (NCIS, The Practice), runs an amazing set full of gracious, generous actors and crew who make it easy to do deep creative work in a safe space. And, it’s no surprise that Michael Weatherly is so loved by the American public. He is an outrageously funny, kind actor and human being...present and deeply committed to his craft and lending support to his fellow storytellers. I’ve never been on such an amazing set before.”

Audiences might not recognize the Tony-winning producer/writer/actor right away, considering Thompson shaved-off her lengthy dreadlocks to create this no nonsense, justice seeking advocate for women -- a subject that also strikes an emotional chord for Thompson personally.

Thompson has proven a powerhouse in the industry, earning critical acclaim from The New York Times, Variety, and Talking Broadway among others. Veteran actor/director Bob Balaban is quoted as calling Thompson “chameleon-like” and “a brilliant actress.” Her numerous film and TV credits, include Blue Caprice, Gotham, Blue Bloods, Babylon Fields, The Exonerated (w/Susan Sarandon and Delroy Lindo), Accidental Husband, Backwards, Babylon Fields, Law & Order and Third Watch among others.

Theater goers will remember Thompson from her expansive body of work on Broadway and Off-Broadway production, most notably Clybourne Park (Pulitzer & Tony awards), Vassar Voices with Meryl Streep, Good Bread Alley, Liberty City The Exonerated with Gabriel Byrne and Richard Dreyfuss, Medea, King Lear, Macbeth, Antigone & Light Raise the Roof

As SimonSays Entertainment Director of Development, Thompson produced the Sundance features Blue Caprice with Isaiah Washington, Mother of George with Danai Gurira, and Gun Hill Road with Esai Morales. In addition, Thompson was on the Tony-winning producing teams for 2017 Tony Award for ‘Best Revival’ for August Wilson's Jitney directed by Ruben Santiago Hudson and 2012 Tony Award for ‘Best Revival’ for Porgy & Bess starring Tony Award winner Audra MacDonald.

Thompson wrote, produced and starred in her Miami Trilogy of plays, Good Bread Alley and Liberty City at New York Theatre Workshop which earned nominations for Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Lortel Awards and earned the Jeff Award. Her latest play, Black Lives, is currently in-development at NYTW.
