Actress AIMÉE SPRING FORTIER Turns Mysterious for NBC Crime Drama ‘LAW & ORDER: Special Victims Unit’
Airing on October 25, 2018
LOS ANGELES (October 11, 2018) – Actress Aimée Spring Fortier is shrouded in mystery guest starring as ‘Grace Walker’ in an all-new episode of NBC’s hit police drama series, LAW & ORDER: Special Victims Unit, airing on October 25th.
In the episode titled “Exile,” a young woman wakes up in the hospital with no memory of her assault, and Carisi’s (Peter Scanavino) investigation stalls when she disappears.
Fortier is thrilled at the opportunity to step into this long-running fan favorite, “As a New York actor, being on Law & Order: SVU feels like a rite of passage. It’s such an institution that we couldn’t shoot scenes outside without someone screaming ‘Hey Ice T!’ People would knock on the door of my trailer just to tell me how much they loved the show. I had a lot thrown at me at once, but the cast and crew were beyond supportive and guided me through it. I feel grateful to book this episode, because my character is so multifaceted and has such a big arc. I’m also really proud to be on a show that has changed the conversation and brought awareness to sexual assault, a topic that is unfortunately as relevant today as it was when the show started 20 years ago.”
Fortier has built a solid reputation for her work as an actress and beyond. Coming later this fall, she will appear in NBC’s highly-anticipated new drama series, The Enemy Within. Fans will recognize her from notable roles on USA’s thriller Mr. Robot and Lifetime’s based on true events movie, Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal.
Also this month, Fortier steps into the role of Director for the revival of John Patrick Shanley’s stage drama, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, opening at Theatre Under St. Marks on October 18th. Earlier this year, she grabbed press attention for her directorial debut of the complex female character driven stage play, Denmark. Forbes.com touted, “What makes Fortier's deftness as a director even more remarkable is that Denmark is her debut.” In addition, Fortier is currently in-development on a series with Isabel Shill titled, UpDating.
A New Orleans, Louisiana native, Fortier began acting at the age of eight and has never stopped. As a professional child actor, she first appeared in numerous commercials, print ads and theatre productions. She graduated from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts in Musical Theatre and Dance before heading to the Weitzenhoffer Department of Musical Theatre at the University of Oklahoma. Continuing to hone her craft, Fortier headed out west to study at the Stella Adler School and with Larry Moss; and then moved east to New York to follow her second passion, writing. She recently graduated from The New School's creative writing program and now resides in Brooklyn.
