*(Thermopolis, Wyo.) *- McDonald’s is concerned with providing sustainable products to their customers. It’s easy to forget that all of the coffee we drink started from a seed and was harvested by farmers, before being roasted and brewed. By partnering with Fair Trade USA, Rainforest Alliance and UTZ, McDonald’s is helping improve lives and protect the environment. In 2014, 32% of all coffee bean purchases made by McDonald’s came from sustainability certified farms and their goal is to increase that amount. Currently, 100% of the espresso beans McDonald’s purchases are from a Rainforest Alliance Certified farm. Apart from purchasing their beans responsibly, McDonald’s USA, McDonald’s Canada and their Franchisees are investing more than $6 million over 4.5 years to help provide technical assistance to coffee farmers. They are doing this by partnering with TechnoServe
SCAN (Sustainable Commodities Assistance Network).
*Right now you can buy any-size coffee for only $1 any time of the day.*
