*Feature Photo: A grass fire in Hot Springs County. (TVFD / Pitchengine Communities) * (Thermopolis, Wyo.) - Here's a safety message from the Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department: "We would like to take a minute to remind everyone today about controlled burning safety. Wind events, no matter how slight, can happen at any time and can easily cause your controlled burn to become uncontrolled. Be sure to keep a source of extinguishment nearby such as a water hose or shovel. Whenever possible, please put a fire break around your fire to help keep it from spreading through the grass or weeds. Please remember to call in all controlled burns to the Emergency Dispatch center at 307-864-3114 or 307-864-2622. Just because it may not be summer-like conditions doesn't meant that wildfires cannot happen. We thank would like to thank everybody for all of your help and support!"
