(Pitchengine Communities)* (Thermopolis, Wyo.) - Hot Springs County Road and Bridge Supervisor Dave Schlager said the low bid for crushing gravel won by Big Horn Reddi Mix
last month allowed the county to increase the purchase by 25 percent.
At Tuesday's Commissioner's meeting, the board also approved a purchase of
10 additional tons of crushed gravel to be stockpiled at the DeVries Pit.
"The bid of $4.87 per ton plus a small royalty per ton was a very good
bid," Chairman John Lumley said. He said that allowed for the extra tonnage
up to 25 percent to be purchased as called for in the contract plus the
additional 10 tons.
The gravel purchase had to be made this month as it is the only month Big
Horn could mine the aggregate.
