Substance Abuse in the United States Prison System

Millions of people are waking up to the fact that the war on drugs has been a complete failure. When you look at the statistics of the prisoners in the United States prison system, you will clearly see that more than half of them suffer from co-occurring disorders such as addiction and depression, addiction and anxiety, etc. To make matters worse, most of them will continue abusing substances while they're locked up since drugs and alcohol are so easy to sneak in, thus, they never rehabilitate.
