Kansas City CEO Named a Top Innovator by Bank Innovation

Lead Bank CEO, Josh Rowland, has been recognized as one of the “Top 10 Most Innovative CEO’s in Banking” by Bank Innovation. Other standouts include Ken Lin, CEO of Credit Karma and CEO of Square, Jack Dorsey.

Under Rowland’s leadership, Lead Bank has instituted initiatives in campaigns such as “Grow Home,” which highlights local businesses making a difference in the Kansas City community and selling the products of its banking customers in its branches. His ability to think outside the norm, find new services that will help clients succeed and being the first to create fintech partnerships in Kansas City, are what led to his appointment as a 2018 Top 10 Bank Innovator.

As part of the INV Fintech accelerator, Rowland initiated partnerships with startups such as GoldBean, an investing and financial education startup for new investors, and Finspace, which builds data and document-sharing spaces for financial institutions and their business clients.

“Our mission is to be at the heart of the success of our communities, which means it is our responsibility, as a bank, to offer new services that will allow these businesses to be better. Being able to offer these types of financial literacy tools to our clients is exciting, says Rowland.

Josh’s goal is to make Lead Bank a digital leader despite its size, and the company is open to talking with any fintech startups that might help it serve its customers.
