Third Street Social and Summit Grill restaurants add fresh talent with Culinary Institute of America graduate in Baking and Pastry Arts

Kansas City native, Nicolette Foster, joins owners that originally inspired her passion after stint at Michael Smith’s and Extra Virgin

Lee’s Summit, Mo. (September 7 , 2016) –  Andy Lock and Domhnall Molloy are pleased to announce the addition of pastry chef Nicolette Foster to their team as they opened their newest concept, Third Street Social in Lee’s Summit and expand Summit Grill and Bar - Waldo into the former 75th Street Brewery space. Foster is creating innovating pastries and desserts from scratch to compliment the menus at both Summit Grill and Bar and Third Street Social.  She gives credit to Lock, Molloy and Summit Grill and Bar executive chef Po Wang for igniting her career in culinary.

“The opportunity to get back into a restaurant kitchen, especially working for the people who have been there from day one and inspired my career - I cannot imagine a greater opportunity.  I am very much looking forward to complimenting their menu with approachable, yet interesting and innovative desserts,” said Foster.

Foster first met Lock, Molloy and Wang when she applied at McCormick and Schmick’s while studying business at the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2006. Within two years of working at McCormick and Schmick’s, Foster became a key hourly line cook and learned every station on the line. This was when her passion for cooking ignited. She pursued her passion at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York where she graduated with honors and earned her degree in Baking and Pastry Arts in 2010.

Three years after graduating, Foster moved back to Kansas City. She established her presence in the area while working as a pastry chef for Michael Smith Restaurant and Extra Virgin. After two years with Michael Smith, Foster was sought after and offered a job by a restaurant owner that aspired to reopen a long standing bakery in Westport. She opened Baked in Kansas City from scratch, conceptualizing and executing their pastry program. Foster took this experience to Paris Brothers where she revamped Parisi’s pastry program. During her time at Paris Brothers she gained invaluable experience in high volume production of viennoiserie and upscale pastry, as well as distribution.
