‘Norton automatic scan not working’. How to fix the problem?
Norton provide security to the system from virus threats and online attacks. It target and eliminates the threat before it could harm the system. It also checks the website reputation and provide details to the user whether the site is safe for providing the personal information or not. Cloud-based control fixes the Norton Antivirus and emulator analyzes the suspicious files.
Norton antivirus automatically starts the scanning process and detects the threat. But there can be instance when the automatic scan stops working. Update the product if it has not been updated for a long time. Many issues get resolved with the updates. Follow the steps if the product update doesn’t solve the problem.
Step 1: Run LiveUpdate
Open the Norton product and go to Security to click LiveUpdate.
Click OK once it is finished and the message is displayed as product is having latest updates.
Now close all the running programs and restart the system.
If the issue is not solve, go to step 2.
Step 2: Run Norton Power Eraser
Download Norton Power Erase and click Save.
Double click on NPE.exe file to run Norton Power Eraser. As the User Account Control window appears click Yes or Continue.
Click Accept after reading the license agreement.
Next click on Scan For Risks icon and restart the system once.
After the restart, scan start automatically.
