Best streams to watch 2018 Winter Olympics
In fact, NBC has announced it is going to live stream 1,800 hours of policy for the 2018 Winter Olympic games next February both online and through the NBC Sports program, which will be available on the Apple TV set-top box.
NBCOlympics.com along with the NBC Sports app will deliver live streams of all 15 sports -- a record amount of hours to get any winter matches -- along with on-demand replays of selected programming.
NBC may also broadcast three apps exclusively on digital platforms. The Gold Zone channel will see the days' events requiring viewers to 102 reside medal-related events. Olympic Ice will provide a thorough post-competition review of figure skating highlights and news. Away from the Post will be a live hockey studio series after each day's final game with reviews, highlights, interviews, analysis, and previews.
NBC will offer an enhanced live streaming experience around select sports, such as Alpine skiing and figure skating. More details on enhanced Winter Olympics streaming will be announced at a later date, '' the network said.
Viewers will need to authenticate their subscription to cover TV to watch the games via their Apple TV. Users will be able to flow 30 minutes of coverage before authenticating on their first trip. On preceding times, users will be able to watch five minutes of programming prior to authenticating.
Separate from live, linear programming broadcast through NBC over-the-air affiliates, the networks big commitment to streaming content is more powerful evidence that live-TV viewing is fast decreasing with more and more people watching DVR and time-shifted programming. Industry analysts believe NBC is seeking to hedge against possible low viewership among the 18-49 year-old market by providing more streaming programming for Opening ceremony.
The upcoming winter games will be held in Pyeongchang, South Korea from February 9th to the 25th.
