Young Life "CaProm"
Blacksburg, VA, March 22, 2017– A group volunteers are setting out to help kids in the New River Valley with special needs and want your help. Friday April 14th at 6 p.m. at the German Club Manor, 711 Southgate dr., they will be hosting an event to celebrate their friends with a Prom.
“They have less opportunity than the average high school student, so it’s really fun to put on such an extravagant event for them,” said Jessica when talking about the second annual Capernaum Prom.
The night will begin with students being walked down the red carpet with volunteers. To make students feel like celebrities there will be volunteers with cameras pretending to be paparazzi. Next there will be a professionally catered meal for students and volunteers. The crescendo of the night will be the dance. Fun music will be played for those who want to dance, and their will also be a photo booth for students to get their pictures taken with hilarious props.
If you would like to help students have the best night of their semester, please contact Gabi Calcavecchio (908)-399-8312. For more information please visit:
Young Life doesn't start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. We believe in the power of presence. Kids' lives are dramatically influenced when caring adults come alongside them, sharing God's love with them. Because their Young Life leader believes in them, they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning and purpose.
