Zocalo offering traditional tamales for Christmas season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 10, 2018) – Zocalo Mexican Cuisine & Tequileria is spicing up the holidays with traditional Mexican tamales, which are available for order now. Tamales are a traditional holiday dish in Mexican culture and are often enjoyed during festivities such as Christmas, the Day of the Dead and Los Posadas. The time-intensive dish is made in the local restaurant’s scratch kitchen with masa, and steamed to perfection in a corn husk. The tamales will be available to guests for carry out, for a limited time only, now – Dec. 23. Tamale orders are available warm and ready to eat, or chilled to be heated and served later.


While supplies last, guests who dine in the restaurant will also be able to order Zocalo’s house made tamales as an appetizer special for $9.5.



Tamale orders come with one dozen pork tamales, red chile tamale sauce, traditional salsa, shredded lettuce, jack cheese, fresh lime wedges, cilantro, and a side of rice and beans. $24
